Two Reasons to Get in Better Shape for Your 2016 Hunt
June 20, 20163 Tips for Hunting Alberta Whitetails in the Rut
July 22, 2016Summer has arrived and it’s a busy time of year for us here at North River Outfitting. While Maria is busy in the office communicating with hunters and organizing plans for the upcoming season, Ron is occupied in the field with opening our British Columbia hunting camps.
There are a myriad of jobs to do this time of year. Much of it begins with Ron running the river, bringing supplies by boat to the lodge, which is a 4.5-hour ride up river. There are always things to fix at the lodge and improvements to be made. Each year we work hard to make sure our guests are treated to new improvements and as much comfort as we can provide in such a remote wilderness area.
Ron and our guides also spend time flying this expansive country and scouting. We pay a visit to each of our spike camp and cabin locations, fixing any grizzly damage that happened over the winter. Scouting of course is one of the best parts of our job this time of year. It’s exciting to lay eyes on some of these animals for the first time each season.
It never gets old flying throughout this remote British Columbia wilderness, seeing lakes and rivers that may not have been visited in years, or may have never even seen another aircraft.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you here during the 2016 season!
