May 16, 2017Conditions around here are still muddy from spring snow but that’s not slowing us down. It’s time to start preparing for the 2017 hunting season and our work is now underway!
We’ve begun hauling loads of supplies by jet boat up the river to our main lodge. It’s a long trip by boat, but it’s the best way to get large volume loads to the lodge, which is in an extremely remote area. In fact, there’s no road for nearly 100 miles.
Good planning and logistics are the keys to operating in the most remote part of British Columbia. We will spend a good part of the spring preparing for the upcoming hunting season and boating supplies up the river.
As we get closer to the season, Ron will also be flying to our remote spike cabins and camps throughout the area. There’s usually grizzly damage to repair, supplies to restock and improvements to make. The area we hunt is incredibly large and making these trips means a lot of flying time for Ron. But all that time in the air means plenty of pre-season scouting.
We are looking forward to the start of the hunting season! After a winter of traveling to shows and talking about the hunting experience, it’s great to finally see it for the first time each spring.
Our 2017 season is completely booked and 2018 is filling up quickly. If you’re interested in hunting with us in 2018 or beyond, we recommend booking early to get your choice of dates and to give yourself plenty of time to prepare. Please call us with questions at 780-675-1942 or contact us online.
