Here at North River Outfitting we love hunting mountain goats and we’d like to let our followers and subscribers know that we now have openings for our 2017 mountain goat hunt. This hunt runs from August 29 to September 9, including the charter days. That’s 10 days of hunting in the incredibly remote wilderness of northern British Columbia.

The adventure begins in Smithers, B.C. where you will board a charter flight to our remote main lodge. From the main lodge, we will fly you by floatplane or wheel plane to one of our remote hunting camps or spike camp locations. Our area is so big that we go years between using each area. Chances are, a goat hasn’t been taken out of that area in two or three years. The animals you see may have never encountered a human. We fly almost daily during the season and there are parts of our area that we’ve never even flown over! It’s that big. This allows us to manage the area with incredible care. Game density and trophy quality is unmatched.

In addition to mountain goat, this area is perfectly suited to combo hunts. It’s not uncommon for our hunters to see trophy moose, mountain caribou and grizzly on the same trip. While you may come primarily for the mountain goat, many of our hunters choose to make it a combo hunt. Two species on a ten-day hunt is very realistic.
