Whitetail Hunting Trophy Photo Preparation
October 19, 2019Tips for your Alberta Whitetail Hunting Experience
October 19, 2019While hunters today are far out-numbered by the folks that inhabit big cities, we carry on a passion and way of life from our ancestors that had created a tradition for many of us each fall. If it weren’t for our ancestors learning how to hunt and passing down their ways over generations, we as a human society would not exist. Additionally, the benefits from venison and harvesting our own meat far outweighs the benefits from today’s farm raised animals. Cut out the artificial growth hormones, antibiotics, and other chemicals or medicines that may be employed for use in commercial animal production operations and you get clean organic meat.
While putting this meat on the table might not be an easy task or like running to the local grocery store, it does have huge benefits when accomplished. Many hours of preparation that all lead to that one moment when you’re able to release an arrow or pull the trigger. Followed by countless hours of game processing and backbreaking work. However when you are able to provide and put “meat on the table”, it has a sense of reward and satisfaction versus spending money to put a piece of meat on the table in a few minutes.
While some people complain about the taste of venison and understandably so as we have grown accustom to processed meat, when cooked in a variety of ways many wouldn’t even know the difference between venison and store bought beef. There are countless recipes out there to help create hearty and healthy meals to serve the family.
As a non-hunter you might be reading this asking yourself, “are there truly any real benefits from wild game meat?” The answer is, YES. Venison is far leaner than beef. It’s lower in calories but also far lower in cholesterol. Thus providing rich nutrient dense calories to help keep you healthy and going strong. Venison is also higher in protein than your local store bought beef.
While we mentioned above there is a lot of work that goes in to harvesting and bringing home your own venison, there is great reward and health benefits to go along with it. Whether you are a new hunter looking to get your own venison or a seasoned hunter looking for an unforgettable hunting experience, we here at North River Outfitting look forward to helping you achieve your dreams.
